What’s Redistricting?

On September 15th, 2025, the county council approved an amended version of Bill 55-25 by a vote of 5-2. Bill 55-25 has two exhibits: Exhibit A – the Proposed Map of nine Council districts; and Exhibit B – the Population and Demographic Summary for the proposed map.

The Councilmanic district boundaries approved in Bill 55-25 will be effective for the 2026 and 2030 County Council elections. For constituent issues, the current seven-district boundaries remain effective until the members elected from the 2026 election are sworn in.
